Ex/EXi Explosion Protection Course and Ex Maintenance
This course is intended for Engineers & Electrical Officers as well Deck Officers working or intending to serve onboard tankers/gas carriers. It is designed based on the applicable regulations and norms for electrical apparatus in explosion-hazard areas for tanker vessels and all other type of vessels.
Generally, the course aims to address the basic and common competencies in the level of knowledge & understanding with respect to principles of protection and safety aspects in explosion-hazard areas; and selection, inspection, and maintenance of electrical equipment & installations commonly found in hazardous locations onboard.
The online training instructions put emphasis on interpretation & applications of regulations to all electrical apparatus & installation in hazardous locations for safe maintenance work and operations; familiarization with common apparatus, and study of construction and information on markings of each apparatus to ensure understanding of its protective principle.
Online sessions include simulation of Zener Barriers working principles.
Instructions lay emphasis on thorough understanding for intrinsically safe apparatus to inculcate safety attitude, thus ensure that safe fault-finding and maintenance work shall be carried out by participants during their shipboard employment.

Entry to this course is open to all Engineers & Electrical Officers as well Deck Officers working or intending to serve onboard tankers/gas carriers.
A Certificate of Completion shall be awarded/issued to those who successfully complete the course.
